100 years of fashion illustration : moda w rysunkach

W zeszłym tygodniu jednak wpadła mi do ręki książka o modzie, z której zaczerpnęłam dużo inspiracji: 100 years of fashion illustration autorstwa Cally Blackman. Większa cześć wydawnictwa to właśnie ilustracje modowych czasopism z przestrzeni dwudziestego stulecia z dołączonymi opisami.

Hello my beauties!
Have you tried to read self - improvement books like "The success principles" written by Jack Canfied? It really helps me to work on myself continuously and I feel that I'm getting more concentrated on what I think and to invert negative thinking into positive . Last week I made a short list with the most important things in my life I do really want to change. One of those is fashion and style education, I feel that I need to know more about history of fashion, its basics. One of the books I'd like to advise you is "100 years of fashion illustration". It contains pages from fashion magazines starting from beginning of 20th century till beginning of 21th century. It also tells us a bit about trends in fashion industry, history of Chanel and Dior houses (and many others of course), I found there one of the first Vogue and Harper's Bazaar issues.
100 of years were splitted into quaters, the latest one applies from 1975 till the end of 20th century. Can you imaging that almost a century ago people had a chance to discover the things we take now for granted? Today we serf the internet, dozens of portals and magazines to get inspired by girls who do insta pictures before toilet mirrow and years ago women were inspired by Egipt culture and history? Isn't it sarcastic, is it? The middle of 20th century changed people's way of thinking: practical and less expensive clothes was at the top. What do we dream of about right now? To have more luxury then ever. Thousands of fashion addicted tries to follow latest trends, share with other their "ootd". Our mothers had simplest life: mine said that she was able to buy only 1 fashion magazine (because there was only one in USSR) per month and illustration from these magazines were the only root of inspiration to her. Note that she was unable to buy those things, but she sew it her own. I think it worth sometimes to stop running the latest trends and take a look into past, sometimes new is just forgotten old :)
